About

His Place had its beginnings in 1997 in the home of Paul and Darlene O’Brien.

Who knew that the spiritual questions from a few young people, would grow into a regular Sunday night Bible study? Out of that initial group of eager Christians seeking honest spiritual answers, God began to form a ministry that would become His Place Ministries.

Over the years the group changed; Paul and Darlene changed as well.

In 1998, Paul and Darlene went through an extremely difficult time in their personal and spiritual lives. Through this difficulty, they came to understand the truth of knowing their identity in Christ and recognized their need for complete dependence on the Life of Jesus, who dwells within all believers.

Today, His Place Ministries teaches the unconditional love of God through THE ‘Christ as Life’ message.

Our Mission

HPM is an online environment where Believers can reignite and refresh their faith, learn to let go of religious duty and obligation, and allow God to bring healing and wholeness into all areas of life.

The hope of HPM is that those who sit under our teaching will experience the life and love of the Lord Jesus Christ in new and wonderful ways. "Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who desire to live and walk free from all the enslavement of their own temptations and propensities, finding new meaning and purpose as a result of experiencing the love of God."

Our Statement of Faith

Verbal inspiration of the Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures, the sixty-six books comprising the Old and New Testaments, to be verbally inspired of God in the original manuscripts, infallible, inerrant and God-breathed, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and the divine and final authority for the Christian faith.

God

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, holy, sovereign, and eternally existing in three equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that God the Son, Jesus Christ, who has always existed, became a man without any diminishing of His deity, by conception of the Holy Spirit and virgin birth through Mary. He lived a sinless life and as the infinite God-Man, took upon Himself the sins of all men, died on the Cross, a perfect and complete sacrifice, in their place and for their sins according to the Scriptures. We further believe in the literal, physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He was then ascended and exalted to the right hand of God as the Great High Priest of all Believers.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the absolute and essential deity and personality of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement, and that He is the Supernatural Agent who regenerates the sinner upon believing in Christ, and at the time of regeneration baptizes the Believer into the one Body of which Christ is the Head, indwelling and sealing him unto the day of redemption.

Man

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin, the race fell, inherited a sinful spirit nature and identity, and became alienated from God, and that man is totally depraved and, of himself, is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.

Salvation

We believe that spiritual life is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (apart from any works by man) whose blood was poured out on the Cross for the forgiveness of sins. Upon receiving the gift of salvation, the person receives eternal life, and becomes a partaker of Christ’s Life. He becomes a new creation in Christ and obtains a new identity as a child of God.

Devil and Demons

We believe that Satan, the devil, is a personal being, originally created as the most beautiful angel in heaven, who was cast out for his rebellion against God and is now aided by a host of evil spirit beings called demons who also are fallen angels who followed after Satan. Every Believer, although subject to their attack, can experience victory through Jesus Christ. Satan was totally defeated and judged at the cross, thus the Believer in Christ is no longer required to suffer under the power of sin.

Sanctification

Each Believer partaking of eternal life, that is Christ’s Life, was spiritually crucified, buried, and risen with Christ. The old man (old nature, old self, Adam nature) died with Christ on the Cross. Each Believer must have an understanding by experience of his being crucified with Christ and the union life he now shares with Christ, if he is to experience living in victory. Sanctification then, is the Holy Spirit conforming the Believer into the image of Christ, and as this occurs, it is “no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). This is not teaching passivity, sinless perfection, or the deification of man.

Future Things

We believe in the imminent catching away of Believers (the Body of Christ).  We believe in the personal, bodily, and glorious Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the saved and unsaved; in the eternal glorification of the redeemed, and in the judgement and conscious, eternal separation from God of the unsaved.
